In the pure emerald waters of Bantry Bay, our organic Blue Shell Mussels grow slowly and naturally.

FOLLOWING NATURE'S OWN WAY

Mussels have always thrived naturally in Bantry Bay. The only ingredient we add to this process is time and care. The mussels source their food from the sea, and where once they may have grown on rocks, we simply provide biodegradable cotton ropes for them to tether to. They grow in their own organic habitat, in their own time. You may spot our ocean grey barrels dotted across the bay, or our farming boat striking off at early dawn, but the beauty of the bay is preserved.

HARVESTED WITH CARE

From the boat we tend the ocean farms. Nurturing the mussels and giving them room to grow, protecting them from the naughty starfish who love to gobble them up. Once they have reached perfection, at around 18 months, we harvest them into the boat. Here we grade them and brush them, carefully clean them and sieve them before heading to shore, a few metres away, to our preparation kitchens.

PREPARED WITH CARE

In our facilities we prepare our organic Blue Shell Mussels to draw out all of their sweet, juicy flavour. We cook them perfectly in sous vide packs, preserving their incredibly beneficial, omega-rich, protein-packed, natural goodness.
